Men's Track
One of five Pac-10 champions that return for Ducks this season. Ran first-ever NCAA provisional mark in season finale in Pac-10 Championships (50.73) - a .56-second personal best and only .11 seconds shy from an actual NCAA invite. Ranks second among league returnees based on last season’s marks. 2001-02: Pac-10 Champion (400 Hurdles). One of five Pac-10 champions for Ducks last season - the most of any team - thanks to gutty effort and personal best time in 400 hurdles (50.73). Altogether ran eight, 400-hurdle contests and broke 52.00 in three of his last five races of the season, including wins in the Washington Dual (51.29) and Oregon Invitational (51.74). Opened year with runner-up placing in Montana-Weber State Triangular (52.90). Missed ranking on U.S. top 50 list by .07 seconds with cutoff at 50.66. Indoors, ranked second on team in 400 with season best from UW Quad (fifth, 48.94). Also broke 49.00 seconds in UW Qualifier (fifth, 48.95).
2000-01: Pac-10 Qualifier. Stood as third-fastest freshman in Pac-10 and fourth on team in 400 hurdles with season best from Texas Invite (13th, 52.83). Also posted solid efforts in Oregon Twilight (third, 53.74) and Oregon Invitational (first, 54.34). Ended year with appearance in U.S. Junior Championships (fourth, 53.07). Ran 400 once, finishing fourth in Washington Dual (49.74). Indoors, ran 400 twice, clocking season best of 49.85 in prelims of Mountain Pacific Championships.
Prep: As senior, finished third in state 4A 110 hurdles (14.92 / 14.83-prelims), 13th in high jump (6-1), anchored fifth-place 4x400 relay (3:25.61) and led qualifying efforts in 300 hurdles (38.29) before a DNF in final. As junior finished third in 4A state 300 hurdles (39.26) and sixth in 110 hurdles (15.16). Was a first-team metro league selection in 110 and 300 hurdles as a senior and junior. Lettered in football at cornerback. High School (Coach): Beaverton '00 (Jim Archer).
