Men's Track
An All-American indoors in 2002, is chasing an NCAA return after leading receiver unit last fall. Paced track squad outdoors in 2002 in 100 (10.41w, w:+2.3) and 200 (21.46w, w:+3.0) and missed Pac-10 finals by .04 seconds and one place. Ranks third among league returnees in 100 and seventh in 200 based on 2002 season bests. Fall 2002: Led Duck receivers in catches (45), yards (681), touchdowns (7) and ranked second in yards per catch (15.1) and per game (56.8). 2001-02: All-American (60-indoors). Indoors, led Ducks in 60 with six efforts that met the NCAA provisional standard of 6.72. Ran season best in NCAA prelims (6.63), to advance to finals where he finished fourth (6.67) - Oregon’s first-ever indoor All-America sprinter. Outdoors, barely missed advancing to finale in 100 at Pac-10 Championships, ranking ninth overall in prelims (10.64). Got off to fast start outdoors with windy best of 10.47w, w:+2.5) to win Montana-Weber State Triangular in cool conditions, and added another sub-10.50 effort in Jesse Owens Classic in May (third, 10.41w, w:+2.3). Also added home win in Washington Dual in 100 (10.76, w:-0.5). Ranked 19th in U.S. indoors with his NCAA prelim personal best (6.63) and sixth among collegians. 2000-01: Pac-10 Scorer. Made first Pac-10 appearance and took eighth in 100 final (10.67) after windy season best in prelims (10.45, w:+4.0). Clocked windy 10.4 hand-timed week prior in Oregon Twilight to finish second. Ran solid 100-200 double to open May in Texas Invitational (10.59 +2.5w, 21.83 +2.0w). Overall, ranked first outdoors on squad in 100 (10.45w) and second in 200 (21.83), and competed in total of four meets starting with Oregon Invitational to close April.
1999-2000: Pac-10 Qualifier. Doubled in Oregon Preview (100, second, 10.61; 4x100, first 40.79), and also ran in Cardinal Invite (10.90). Ranked fifth among Pac-10 freshmen in 100, but missed Pac-10 Championships because of an injury. During fall 2000 season, ranked eighth on football team in receptions (11) while his 18.3 ypc. average led the squad. Prep: One of West Coast's top receivers with 58 passes, 1,214 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. Owned track bests of 10.4 (100) and 21.4 (200) as team won CIF titles in 1996 and 1997.
