Men's Track
2001-02: Redshirted outdoor season, and competed unattached in area meets. Competed in pole vault (fifth, 15-0, 4.57m) and 110 hurdles (15.73) in Oregon Twilight. Ran 110-hurdle best (15.24) in UW mini-meet. Threw javelin best of 167-9 in summer all-comers meet in 2002. Prep: As senior in 3A state meet in 2000, finished fifth in 300 hurdles, and was a qualifier in pole vault, triple jump and 110 hurdles. Also earned state invite as sophomore in 300 hurdles, while an injury at districts as a junior prevented a third state invite. Improved pole vault season bests from 11-9 as a freshman, to 13-6 as sophomore, 15-0 as junior and 14-8 as senior. His yearly bests in the 110 hurdles follow: 15.7 (freshman), 15.2 (sophomore), 15.0 (junior) and 14.68 (senior). Also owned prep bests of 39.25 in 300 hurdles, 21-0 in long jump and 45-1 in triple jump. Lettered three years as sweeper in soccer. High School (Coach): Newberg ‘01 (Bruce Sinkeil/Monte Bradley).
