Harless Adds Academic All-District Honors

May 22, 2003

EUGENE - Oregon wrestler Jason Harless was named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Men's At-Large third team Thursday. Harless, a junior from Bonanza, Ore., is a general sciences major with a 3.70 grade-point average.

The at-large team encompasses the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. It was voted on by CoSida members from within the District VIII states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, and the province of British Columbia.

Harless, who earlier this year was named to the Academic All-Conference Wrestling first team for the second time, is one of only four wrestlers to be named to the at-large team. This is his first academic honor at the district level.
