Oregon Wrestling Signs Two Top-Notch Recruits

Two recruits signed national letters of intent to wrestle for the Oregon Ducks following their high school careers. Stewart Bogart and Aaron Pedeferri should add to Oregon's already deep roster for the 2003-04 season and continue Oregon's tradition of excellence on the mat.

"Both of these guys are good students, good hard-nosed kids and they fit into the program," head coach Chuck Kearney said. "They both could contribute immediately."

Bogart, a native of Shawnee Mission, Kan., finished in second place his freshman and sophomore years before breaking through to win the state title his junior year. In his state championship year, Bogart did not lose a match. So far in his three years of high school wrestling, Bogart has compiled a 96-7 record. He has had his high school success at the 135 pound weight class, but will most likely wrestle at 141 at Oregon.

Pedeferri, a two-time state champion from Duvall, Wash., will join the Ducks following a successful high school campaign at Cedarcrest High School. Pedeferri became only the second Eastside wrestler to win back-to-back state titles. His current high school record is 105-8, with one year remaining. He has won both the league and district titles all three years in high school.
