2003 Outlook — Will make the switch from shortstop to third base this season. Is a steady player who has always been a key component to Oregon’s offense and defense and will continue that role this season. A team player who can be relied on to do whatever it takes to help Oregon win games. 2002 — A consistent feature in Oregon’s infield last season, Haij started all but one game for the Ducks and was a solid defensive presence...Offensively, Haij led the team in runs scored (26) and was also the team’s leader in games played (54)...Early in the season, Haij showed offensive prowess, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored vs. Texas Tech Feb. 1...Two weeks later, Haij was 3-for-4 with three runs scored against Cal Poly...Had her first home run of the season Mar. 2 against Southern Utah, finishing the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a career-high four RBI...Could also come up strong in the difficult Pacific-10 Conference as she hit her second home run against then-No. 3 Stanford that tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning...Oregon was narrowly defeated, 4-2, but Haij was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI...In the Ducks’ final game of the season, Haij was 1-for-2 with a run scored as Oregon defeated then-No. 8 Stanford 4-0. 2001 — Started in all 68 of Oregon’s games at third base and has started in every game of her collegiate career...Had 56 put outs and 109 assists while posting a .922 fielding percentage...Hit .252 for the season and had 53 hits, one double and 15 runs batted in...Primarily hit in the No. 2 spot...Went 2-for-4 against No. 2 UCLA and scored a run as the Ducks almost upset the Bruins in Los Angeles...Was 2-for3 against then-No.2 Arizona in the Ducks’ Pac-10 opener...In Oregon’s 4-0 win over Arizona State, Haij was 1-for-3 with an RBI...Was 1-of-3 with an RBI in a 7-4 loss vs. No. 6 California...Was impressive in a 7-0 win over Portland State May 9, finishing 1-of-3 with two runs scored. Prep - Played both shortstop and third base at Columbia River High School...A first-team all-league selection as junior...Helped lead her team to a state championship in 1997...Played ASA ball for eight years, reaching nationals and regionals four times...In 1996, her team placed fifth nationally...Also a stellar student, Haij was a member of the National Honor Society and was the recipient of the Scholar- Athlete Award.
