Softball
2003 Outlook — Established herself as Oregon’s primary leader during spring drills. Will be the Ducks’ starting catcher in 2003. Is both a strong defensive player as well as a clutch hitter. 2002 — In her first season of Pac-10 play, Poore played in 51-of-54 games and started all 21 Pac-10 games behind the plate...accounted for 235 putouts from catchers post and had a .966 fielding percentage...Offensively, was one of just five players to hit a home run in a Pac-10 game, hitting her third home run of the season against Washington May 4...Finished that game 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI...Had her first home run of the season March 1 vs. Utah and added a double, finishing the game 2-for-3...Hit her second home run of the season three weeks later against UNLV...In Pac-10 action, Poore also showed offensive abilities, going 1-for-3 with a run scored against Oregon State March 30 and going 2-for-3 against top-ranked UCLA April 20...Finished the season with a hit in three consecutive games, icluding a 1-for-4, one run performance in Oregon’s 4-0 victory over then-No. 8 Stanford. Before Oregon -- Played for University of Mississippi during her freshman year and was Easton third-team all-american...Led Ole Miss in batting average (.309), slugging percentage (.401), hits (47), total bases (61) and was second in on-base perecentage (.352), RBI (23) and doubles (9). Prep — Played catcher and third base for four years at Rancho Bernardo High School coached by Tracy Stowe...Received second-team C.I.F. and first-team coaches team...Also the Union Tribune Athlete fo the week...Played ASA for the Southern Cal Athletics team and helped team win Gold 18U national championship her senior year...Member of the volleyball team for three years as well.
