Women's Track
Enjoyed breakthrough season for Ducks, with all six of her 400 efforts faster than her preseason best in 2002 (55.50). Continued Ducks’ recent string of success in 400 and ranks fifth among Pac-10 returnees in 2003 - three of which that are NCAA veterans. Ranks seventh all-time for Ducks in 400 and will join top five if she runs 54.05 or faster this season. Also leads Duck returnees this season in the 60 (7.92), 100 (12.17), and 200 (24.64), and also ran 2:17 in the 800 as a prep. 2001-02: Pac-10 Scorer (400). Scored in second Pac-10 appearance (sixth, 54.35). At season’s end, led Ducks in 400 (54.31), 200 (24.64) and 100 (12.17). Ran six, 400 races during year – with all except one (Oregon Invite, first, 55.29) sub-55 seconds. Overall, claimed four wins during year - twice in the 400 (Montana State-Weber State Triangular, 54.31; Oregon Invite, 55.29), once in the 200 (24.85) and once in 100 (12.17, Linfield Icebreaker). Indoors, paced team in 60 (7.92), 200 (25.23) and 400 (56.23). Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention selection in track.
2000-01: Pac-10 Competitor. Led squad in the 400 (55.50) and ranked fourth in the 800 (2:18.78) and 200 (25.41). Ran nine 400 races during outdoor season, three of which were sub-56.00. Finished fourth in heat in Pac-10 Championships with a personal best (55.50), missing final by one place and .65 seconds. Also went sub-56.00 in Oregon Invitational (fourth, 55.81) and Washington Dual (second, 55.89). Won two races during year at home - Oregon Preview (56.37) and Oregon Twilight (56.4-h). Indoors, led squad in 400 (57.57) with mark from Idaho Scoring Meet, and also was squad's fastest in 600 meters in Eugene Indoor (1:40.65). Did not compete in cross country.
1999-2000: Ranked second on squad in the 400 (56.47), and fifth in the 200 (25.79) and 800 (2:18.22) based on season bests. Just missed her then-personal best in the 400 by .05 seconds with her season best (56.47) from the Pomona Pitzer Invite in mid-April. Logged 200 season best to open year in Oregon Preview (25.79), and added collegiate 800 best in early April in the Willamette Open (2:18.22). Redshirted cross country season.
Prep: In 1999, finished senior season with 4A state title in 400 (56.99) and took third in 200 (25.30) and fifth in 100 (12.55). Finished second in state 400 (57.05) and sixth in 200 (25.58) as a junior and ran on winning 4x400 relay (3:56.42). Clocked a then-personal best of 56.42 in district win as a junior, and was the 200-400 district champion her last two seasons. As a sophomore, finished fifth in state 400 (58.73). Showed wide spectrum of sprint talent backed by her personal bests in the 100 (12.42-1999), 200 (25.3-1999), 400 (56.42-1998) and 800 (2:17-1999). Helped squad to state title in 1998 and conference crowns in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Set or added to school records in 400, 4x100, 4x400. Lettered in cross country three seasons and owned 5K best of 19:56. High School (Coach): South '99 (Bill Rowan).
Personal: Major: Spanish. Her husband Mat Davis was a two-time NAIA All-American in the 400 for Southern Oregon, and a football player for Oregon State and Murray State. Born Janette Elizabeth Martin on January 16, 1981 in Klamath Falls, Ore. Personal Bests: 200 - 24.64 (May 2002); 400 - 54.31 (March 2002); 800 - 2:17 (Prep).
