One of team’s most experienced and consistent cross country runners, scored in four of five races in 2002 as Ducks improved to fifth in Pac-10 and Western Regional Championships. On the oval, will likely split time between the 800 and 1,500. Redshirted the 2002 track campaign, and in 2001, missed Pac-10 invite in the 1,500 by less than a second. Ranks fifth and sixth among Duck returnees in 1,500 and 800, respectively, based on prior personal bests.

Fall 2002: Scored for Ducks in four cross country races, including Pac-10 (40th, 22:22) and Western Regional Championships (47th, 22:55). Added top-five efforts on squad in Pre-Nationals (153rd, 22:30) and Willamette Invite (25th, 18:07). Also ran in team’s sixth spot in Roy Griak Invite (113th, 23:19). Honored with Eri Macdonald to Pac-10 Cross Country All-Academic First-Team selection.

2001-02: Redshirted outdoor season and competed twice locally – in 800 in Oregon Twilight (seventh, 2:20.33) and 1,500 in Oregon Invitational (17th, 4:53.57). Indoors, ranked second on team in mile in only race of season in UW Quad (14th, 5:18.95). During cross country, ran top four in all five races -- including top-three squad honors in four meets. Ranked second on squad in NCAA Western Regional (75th, 24:00); third on unit in Sundodger Invite (33rd, 18:23), Furman Invite (150th, 23:42) and Pac-10 Champs (44th, 23:33); and fourth on squad in Roy Griak Invite (180th, 23:20). Pac-10 All-Academic Cross Country First Team selection.

Fall 2000: Ran at sixth spot on squad or better at six of seven races. Closed year with her second NCAA Championships appearance (240th, 24:06.7). Scored twice for squad at Pac-10 Championships (40th, 22:31.98) and Iowa State Memorial Classic (163rd, 23:11), and ranked sixth at NCAA Western Regional (74th, 22:33). Second-team Pac-10 Cross Country All-Academic selection.

1999-2000: Was one of middle distance unit’s most called-upon entries, running eight races over the course of the outdoor season — six 800’s, one 1,500 and a 800-meter DMR leg (and an unofficial 2:13 split). At season’s end, ranked third on team in the 800 (2:14.80) and sixth in the 1,500 (4:48.40). Lowered personal best in the 800 twice during the season – Oregon Preview (third, 2:14.84) and Oregon Invite (13th, 2:14.80). Also clocked 4:48.40 for eighth in 1,500 debut at Willamette Open. In cross country, ran on varsity unit at five meets, including NCAA (239th, 19:36.9), NCAA Western Regional (85th, 18:59) and Pac-10 Championships (31st, 18:39.9). Scored for Ducks at collegiate debut at Clackamas Open (sixth, 18:16).

Prep: As a senior, ranked 21st among California prepsters in the 800 (2:15.33). Finished fifth in state meet prelim as a senior (2:16.62). An all-league pick in track, cross country and soccer, helped team to league and section titles. Father Chris Gulbrandsen played football and ran track and field at Foothill Junior College and Chico State. Brothers Mat and Josh played football at Butte and Cabrillo Junior Colleges, respectively.
