Women's Track
Oregon’s most decorated pole vaulter all-time, shares indoor pole vault school record (13-9 3/4) with senior teammate Becky Holliday, and ranks second outdoors with her 2001 outdoor best (13-5 1/4). Redshirted 2002 outdoor season but still competed unattached and ranked 16th overall on U.S. list with her indoor best. Will face another steeply competitive Pac-10 field which features six of 2002’s top-10 collegians (including Reed and WSU’s Tamara Diles who also redshirted the 2002 outdoor season). 2001-02: NCAA Qualifier (Pole Vault - indoors). Redshirted outdoor season since she was on a five-year academic plan and hadn’t sat out a season yet. Competed in USA Championships and took fourth among collegians and 10th overall (13-5 1/4). Also competed unattached locally in Oregon Twilight (first, 13-5 1/4) and Oregon Invitational (NH). Indoors, just missed All-America honors (10th, 13-3 1/2) after entering meet seeded in a tie for sixth. Earlier in indoor season, raised school record to 13-9 3/4 with teammate Becky Holliday in the UW Quad and took third overall. Also claimed win in Nebraska Last Chance Qualifier (13-5 1/4) and competed in Mountain Pacific Championships (fourth, 13-7 1/4), UW Invite (second, 13-5 1/2) and Pole Vault Summit (12-9 1/2).
2000-01: NCAA Qualifier. Cleared 12 feet or better in seven outdoor contests, including two above 13 feet. Scored for second time in Pac-10 finale (seventh, 12-11). No-heighted in NCAA outdoor finale, but followed with 11th-place effort and third among collegians in USA Outdoor Championships (12-9 1/2) in Eugene. Tied her own school record in win over Washington (13-5 1/4), and was also above 13 feet in the following meet, the Mt. SAC Relays (fifth, 13-2). Redshirted indoor season.
1999-2000: All-American. Two-time NCAA Qualifier. Broke outdoor school record with personal best from the Oregon Invite (second, 13-5 1/4). Made second NCAA outdoor trip (13th, 12-9 1/2), one of only four outdoor appearances as she battled a knee injury. Added another +13-foot effort in Washington Dual (first, 13-1 1/2). Also made Olympic Trials appearance, no-heighting at the opening height of 13-2 1/2. Tied for 16th in U.S. at 2000 outdoor season's end as one of six league members among the top 25. Indoors, claimed second All-America honor in NCAA Indoor Championships (fourth, PR 13-5 1/4) off a borrowed pole when her implement was broken by airport baggage handlers. Earned NCAA trip with then-indoor school record (13-1 1/2) in Daily Sun Invite in Flagstaff, Ariz. Also eclipsed 13-foot mark in Mountain Pacific Championships (second, 13-0 1/4). Overall indoors and outdoors in her 11 meets, was above 12 feet in nine appearances, and above 13 feet in six contests.
1998-99: All-American. Team's top newcomer with personal bests in Pac-10 and NCAA debuts. Scored in NCAA outdoor debut despite Boise's ever-changing wind conditions (fifth, then-PR 12-9 1/2). Leading up to NCAA's, claimed final heights of 12-7 1/2 in both the Pac-10 meet (second) and Pepsi Team Invite (first). Opened outdoor season tying then-personal best in Oregon Preview (first, 12-0). Tied or raised PR in five outdoor meets, and cleared 12 feet or better in eight of 10 outdoor contests, including her first USA Championships, held at Hayward Field (16th, 12-3 1/2). Indoors, cleared 12-0 for the first time in her Duck debut in the Pole Vault Summit (12-0) in January.
Prep: Ranked seventh nationally among high school seniors in 1998 and 12th among all preps with her personal best and state record (11-8) from the Oregon state 3A meet. Won state 3A title as a senior (11-8) and took third as a junior (9-10). All-state second-team pick in swimming, and was a softball and volleyball letterwinner. High School: Newport '98.
